Reflexology

Reflexology is a wonderfully relaxing holistic therapy which treats the feet in order to help balance the whole body and to stimulate the body's own healing process. In Reflexology, the feet (and the hands!) are like mini-maps of the body's anatomy. All organs, systems and glands and can be mapped onto the feet which are known as reflex points. It is thought that by stimulating these reflex points, other corresponding and connected areas of the body will benefit.

Reflexology is generally suitable for all ages from the young to the elderly and, may bring relief for a wide spectrum of health conditions. After completing a course of treatments for a specific condition, often people find it beneficial to continue treatment to maintain health and well being. Reflexology however, can be enjoyed and be very beneficial even if you do not have any particular health concerns!

What are the benefits?

It brings about a deep sense of relaxation. It is believed that 75% of all disease is estimated to be stress related.

Reflexology improves blood circulation and improves neural efficiency. Approximately 7000 nerve endings are stimulated during a Reflexology treatment.

It improves waste removal and elimination and encourages the body's self healing process.

What happens during a treatment?

On your first visit, you will be taken through a Client Consultation Questionnaire to help me find out about your general state of health, wellbeing, life style and to help me to understand any specific health concerns you may be facing.  Only shoes and socks need to be removed and you will then be made comfortable in a relaxed position on the couch ready for your treatment.  The treatment itself will last approximately one hour but extra time should be allowed for the first treatment.

Please note: Reflexology is intended to 'complement' conventional medicine and should not be regarded as a substitute for medical care.
